A compact and portable infrared video system
for searching buildings, ships and vehicles and suitable for use by police,
customs officers and security forces.
The camera head, incorporating a powerful covert infrared light source, is
mounted on a light weight telescopic arm that can be extended to 1550mm. Only
40x50mm, the head is easily maneuvered into confined spaces and has a swan
neck fitting to permit adjustments to the angle of view.
Together the high resolution video system and powerful illumination provide
excellent visibility in darkness.
Other features include a fixed focus lens, with a large depth of field, and
automatic gain control that continually optimizes image contrast. Both
eliminate the need to carry out system adjustments during operation.
The system is powered by a new technology, nickel-metal hydride battery
which features fast charging. The monitor, battery and controls are located
in a compact soft bag that can be worn securely on the chest using neck and
waist straps during operations.
Standard video output permits the use of VCRs and additional
monitors.
The complete system comprises the camera and infrared light source on a telescopic
pole; monitor, rechargeable battery and controls fitted into a soft pouch
with neck and waist straps; spare battery pack; battery charger; and
transit/storage case.
