FTI/HHTI HAND-HELD THERMAL IMAGER

FTI, Forward observer Thermal Imager, is a hand-held thermal imager (HHTI) specifically developed for integration with the Simrad Optronics ASA LP10TL Target Locator into a complete forward observer instrument. This is being evaluated for the FOS2000 Forward Observer System for the Norwegian and Swedish armies. The FTI has two fields of view and a biocular display. FTI is powered from built-in replaceable, rechargeable Lithium Ion batteries. Control is via an intuitive interface with drop-down menus. Used in the FOS2000 system, FTI can be controlled from the LP10TL, which also displays the thermal image together with target data. FTI can also be remotely controlled via serial interface and has an external video output. The HHTI version is similar to the FTI but without the interface to the LP10TL.
