Military Thermal Imagers& Optical Sights |

QWIP TECHNOLOGYThe QWIP detector is a staring Focal Plane Array (FPA) operating in the Long Wave IR band (LWIR). Developed and produced in Sweden and based on a Swedish patent, it combines high sensitivity with excellent image quality. This ensures good identification performance and comfortable long-term surveillance. The detector is cooled by an integrated Stirling cooling engine and is delivered in a 320x240 pixel format. Development of a 640x480 pixel detector is going on and future development includes dual band, e.g. MWIR and LWIR, detectors.
BIRC CLIP-ON THERMAL IMAGING SIGHTBIRC is designed as a clip-on thermal imaging sight for the Bofors BILL Anti-Tank missile system. Serial deliveries for the Swedish Army began in 2001. It can also be adapted to other systems such as MILAN or TOW. BIRC has two fields of view and offers detection at up to 10km, recognition at up to 4km, and identification at up to 2km. All control functions are immediately available, i.e. no menu selections need to be made. BIRC is mounted on to the day sight with no adjustments necessary and is built to be carried and handled by an infantryman in arctic environments.
LIRC COMPACT THERMAL IMAGER |
|
LIRC is a compact thermal imager designed for integration into sighting systems for Main Battle Tanks and Armoured Fighting Vehicles. Being lightweight, while rugged, it is also suitable for other applications requiring high sightline stability. It is fully remotely controlled via a standard serial interface. Video output is via a standard CCIR (PAL or NTSC) interface. LIRC has two fields of view and will be available with either 320x240 or 640x480 pixel FPAs.
